In one of the earliest posts on this blog, we tried to explain some of the arcane vocabulary of the CFC. The latest CFC regulations, newly in effect for the 2017 campaign, brought some additional terms that we should introduce to the 99.9999999% of the population that doesn’t live in this world every day.
The 2017 CFC is continuing its gradual ramp-up to full operation, and some details have yet to be revealed. Here’s what we know so far.
As we have written recently (here and here), the CFC is officially underway, and the new portal for online pledging is open. When we log into the portal and look around, we see evidence that donors are using it. Specifically, pledges are being made. That’s very good news.
The Office of Personnel Management, which oversees the Combined Federal Campaign, announced around 1 p.m. today that the online donation portal is open. We will be testing it to see how it's working. Stay tuned.
Restaurants have soft openings. Why not the CFC?
Sometimes a new eatery will launch with a limited menu or restricted hours and work up to full service while kinks get worked out. The 2017 CFC seems to have adopted this practice.
