We now know that total pledges in the 2017 CFC were $101 million, down nearly 40 percent from 2016. This was reported Friday in the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
In one of the earliest posts on this blog, we tried to explain some of the arcane vocabulary of the CFC. The latest CFC regulations, newly in effect for the 2017 campaign, brought some additional terms that we should introduce to the 99.9999999% of the population that doesn’t live in this world every day.
We have been quiet for a while, waiting for the changes introduced by OPM (details in this report) to work their way through the CFC. As the 2017 campaign prepares to launch, we can see the impact of many of these changes.
The Chronicle of Philanthropy reports that the United Way of America is now talking openly of asking Congress to block the proposed CFC regulations, published just today.
Naturally, we’ll be doing an analysis. Stay tuned.
