Updated March 31, 2014. The 2013 Combined Federal Campaign dropped 19% in comparison to 2012, figures published by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) now show. The pledge figures are found on the section of the OPM website that deals with the CFC.
In 2012, the CFC pledge total was $258.3 million. The pledge total for the 2013 campaign appears to be slightly above $209.6 million, reflecting figures submitted by 162 of the 163 local CFC administrators. The $209.6 million total includes an estimate by the Workplace Giving Alliance (WGA) for the campaign zone that has not yet submitted its report to OPM.
CFC zones raising over $1 million appear to have performed slightly better than the national average, dropping 18% in comparison to the prior year. CFC zones raising between $100,000 and a million dollars saw their pledges decline by 20%. Smaller zones reported even higher declines.
The drop in CFC pledges has been widely anticipated. On March 14, 2014, WGA projected an 18% decline, using pledges total collected from about one-third of the local administrators.
