- For the 2011 CFC, the government reported that 959,210 employees pledged $272,679,277.
- For the 2012 CFC, the government now reports that 848,150 employees pledged $257,211,334.
Again, the government has released only summary figures. Numbers are still being tallied regarding the performance of individual charities. If you are a charity participating through a federation, you will receive a report from that federation later this spring on how well you did. If you are a charity that participated independently, you have been receiving reports on your performance from around the country. There are almost 200 zones who will report to you, so it will take some time for all the data to reach you.
The 2012 CFC was conducted during a tremendously challenging time for the federal government and its employees. Budget fights were seemingly endless, and those who work for the government often wondered last fall if their jobs were secure.
So right now, as initial pledge totals arrive, we want to salute those many federal employees who elected to participate in the 2012 CFC. You may not hear these words enough: Thank You.
