Comments Submitted to OPM Becoming Public on Eve of Congressional Hearing

OPM’s proposal to charge charities an upfront, non-refundable application fee appears to have drawn more comments – and more opposition – than any other suggested change to the CFC. The elimination of LFCCs, PCFOs, and the printed directory also appear to have generated a great deal of concern.

OPM began to release some of the received comments this weekend, a few days ahead of a scheduled hearing on the proposed regulations being convened by a subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. It now appears that more than 1,000 comments were submitted during the two month period that closed June 7, 2013.

The Workplace Giving Alliance began a week ago to analyze submitted comments. By Friday, we had reviewed 35 – from PCFOs, LFCC leaders, federations, charities, and others. We released our report of this initial work earlier today:
