For the first 50 years of its life, number of charities in the Combined Federal Campaign increased steadily, and in later years, dramatically. It’s no wonder. The CFC, as originally conceived, offered charities a way to connect with donors – old and new – without incurring any upfront cost. And it spawned recurring donations.

The latest CFC regulations, newly in effect for the 2017 campaign, brought some additional terms that we should introduce to the 99.9999999% of the population that doesn’t live in this world every day.
The 2017 CFC is continuing its gradual ramp-up to full operation, and some details have yet to be revealed. Here’s what we know so far.
