Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign, CVC, reaches over 100,000 state employees annually.  It is the only authorized payroll deduction fund drive offered to state employees.  Annually CVC raises approximately $3.9 million for over 1,300 charities.

Eligibility Requirements

Note:  This is a summary of the eligibility requirements for admittance to CVC.  A list of the regulations can be obtained by contacting the campaign manager.  Applications must be completed online at: http://www.cvc.vipnet.org/cgi-bin/cvc-welcome.cgi between March 1st and April 30th.

To gain access to CVC an organization must:

  • Be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization
  • File Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service
  • Operating expenses (administrative and fundraising costs) must be less than 25.01 percent in the most recent completed fiscal year
  • Be registered with the Va. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services- VDACS. Charitable Solicitation forms can be located at: http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/allforms.shtml.
  • Each charity must complete an Electronic Business Agreement, sign it, and mail the original to: CVC, 101 N. 14th Street – 12th Floor, Richmond, Virginia.
  • If you are a returning charity, be a recipient of a minimum of $500 in donations in the prior year CVC.
