Summary
The State of Ohio Combined Charitable Campaign, CCC, is the only authorized workplace giving campaign offered to Ohio state employees. Annually the CCC raises several million dollars for eligible charities.
Eligibility Requirements
Note: This is a summary of the eligibility requirements for admittance to the CCC. Contact the State Campaign Liaison for the current year's application.
To gain access to the CCC an organization must:
- Be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c) (3) organization
- File form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service
- Expend no more than 25 percent of its gross revenue on management and fundraising. If the organization’s overhead is above 25 percent, it must present a justification and plan to reduce expense in the next fiscal year
- Commission a full-scale audit by an independent certified public accountant that is prepared using generally accepted auditing standards
- Be incorporated or authorized to do business within Ohio. If the organization is not incorporated in Ohio, it must file with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office as a foreign corporation. The fee is approximately $125
- Be registered to solicit funds through the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The fee is approximately $200
- Be in existence for at least two years prior to the date of application
