Summary
The Florida State Employees Charitable Campaign, FSECC, is the only workplace fund drive offered to state employees in Florida. Annually FSECC raises approximately $5 million for participating charities.
Eligibility Requirements
Note: This is a summary of the eligibility requirements for admittance to FSECC. A a complete list of the regulations as well as the current year's application can be found by contacting the campaign managers.
To gain access to the FSECC an organization must:
- Be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization
- File Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service
- Be audited annually by an independent public accountant whose examination confirms to generally accepted accounting principles
- Have an active board that serves without compensation
- Have reasonable expenses for fundraising. Where administrative and fundraising expenses exceed 25%, the organization must demonstrate extraordinary circumstances that justify the expense ratio
- Be registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to solicit funds. This form can be found at: http://www.doacs.state.fl.us/onestop/forms/10100.pdf. Fees range from $10 - $400 depending on the size of your organization
- Have a stated policy of nondiscrimination
- Provide direct and substantial services on the community or statewide level. Organizations must be able to provide geographic locations and scope of services provided to Florida residents on a year-round basis
