Summary

The Arizona State Employees Charitable Campaign, SECC, is the only authorized workplace giving campaign for state employees.  Annually, the campaign raises approximately $1.5 million for over 700 charities. Approximately 94 percent of the money raised goes directly to the charities, making it one of the most cost effective state campaigns in the nation.

Eligibility Requirements

To gain access to the SECC an organization must: 

  • Be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organizations
  • File Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service
  • Commission an audit or financial statement by an independent by an independent certified accountant.  Organizations with an annual revenue of over $100,000 must commission a GAAS/GAAP audit
  • Expend no more than 25 percent of its annual revenue on administration and fundraising
  • Be incorporated under a governmental entity
  • Have an active and responsible board, a majority of which serve without compensation
  • Demonstrate direct and substantial local presence in Arizona.  This is defined as having a staffed facility, office, or portion of a residence located in Arizona
  • Have a stated policy of nondiscrimination.
